Conviction

Event date: November 18, 2011

Based on a true story. Hillary Swank plays Betty Anne, a working mom and high school dropout, who watches helplessly as her brother, Kenny, is arrested for murder, defended by an incompetent public defender, convicted, and sentenced spend the rest of his life in prison. Convinced he is innocent, Betty Anne puts herself through high school, college, and law school, passes the bar, and then, 18 years after the conviction, takes on appealing Kenny’s appeal.
