Shirley MacLane is a former ballerina whose rise to fame ended when she decided to settle down and raise a family. Leslie Browne is her daughter who has her own chance for stardom. Anne Bancroft is the famous dancer who longs for the family she sacrificed to pursue her career. Now everyone is faced with what their choices have created.
